2015-08 - Winning...

You have to run to win the race.

You must take the first step to win any race.

The first step will take some effort and maybe some pain.

But after that, everything you have to do is real-life movement.

Once you're moving you must keep moving.

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desires and begin at once, whether you're ready or not, to put your plan into action.

If you can get up the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.

You can only fail if you fail to start.

Winning starts with beginning.

2015-07 - Humility...

In 1941, Sergeant James Ward, from New Zealand, was awarded the highest British gallantry award, the Victoria Cross.

In an amazing feat he had climbed out onto the wing of his Wellington Bomber, 13,000 feet above the earth to extinguish a fire in the starboard engine. Secured only by a rope around his waist, he managed to smother the fire and return to the aircraft's cabin and to land successfully.

Churchill, an admirer of such daring exploits summoned the shy Ward to 10, Downing Street. The shy New Zealander was struck dumb with awe by the experience and was unable to answer the Prime Minister's questions.

Churchill regarded the reluctant hero with some compassion. "You must feel very humble and awkward in my presence," he said.

"Yes, sir..." managed Ward.

"Then you can imagine how humble and awkward I feel in yours," responded Churchill.

2015-06 - Plans...

Too many plans are a bad thing.

We've got to remember that our job is to have the vision, the intention, the clarity. We're not supposed to handle all the little details because we can't know all the myriad ingredients required in our cosmic soup to bring us what we desire. We don't know the perfect mixture.

But, the universe or God (whatever you prefer to call the source) does.

So, if life's not going the way we want, what we have to do is work on our intentions. It's amazing what happens when we have an intention about everything. Try having an intention before you pick up the phone and make a call, before you get in your car, before you walk into work.

If you watch you'll see that what you intend about anything is pretty darn close to what you end up with.

Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately degenerate into hard work.

2015-05 - A little bit different...

You are always achieving something, one thing or another. You are always getting results of some kind.

Getting the results you most passionately and authentically desire is not a matter of making more effort. It is, rather, a matter of making different efforts and consistently keeping those efforts focused.

The way to maintain your focus long enough to get the results you seek, is by reminding yourself why. Be clear about why you want those results, and find a way to keep those reasons close at hand.

The success you seek is not particularly difficult. It’s just a little bit different than what you’re doing now.

Be clear about why, keep your thoughts and efforts focused, and your life will proceed in the direction of your dreams.

~ Ralph Marston
